Odd Thoughts...

I was at a BS summer camp not too long ago and I was talking to some of the guys about my Gender Dysphoria.  Anyway, I started having odd thoughts.. It was like I couldn't understand why they could not want to change their sex...

I guess it's an odd balance because they probably can't understand why I'd even consider it.  No, I don't feel like I have to go out and convince everyone that they should switch genders, and I don't think there's something abnormal about people who are born male and wish to stay male...  For some reason, I just can't understand it.

Thinking about it more in-depth, I'd probably felt like this all my life... It just sort of became clear all of a sudden.  It was kind of like when I was back in Kindergarden, and I couldn't understand what boys found disgusting about girls and vice versa (mind you, I still don't).

I was wondering if anyone else has ever felt like this, or it's just another one of those strange spontaneous ideas I've gotten.

"BS" - Boy Scout?

I kinda know what you mean, but for me it's more prevalent when I'm playing computer games.  It's just always felt natural for me to choose a female character (when the option is present) and wonder why anyone would ever want to play a male character.  The female characters are just cuter, and usually get more clothing options and things like that.  Male characters in games are just so bland!  hehe

I've had this thought in real life too, wondering why the guys I know are so comfortable with their gender role, when I never was.  But I've never tried to convince anyone to change genders either.  There was only one time when I felt inclined to suggest it to a friend, but then backed off, remembering that it's not all candy and roses - it's pure hell at times.

But seems my T-dar was pinging correctly ... he later confided in me that he felt the same as I do, but just didn't know where to start.

Yeah, but for personal prefrence more than convinence, I prefer to write it as "BS"... Not because they're bad people, or anything, it's just that I'm kind of forced to be part of them  :-\

Omg exactly.  Even before I realized I was tg, I'd do the exact same thing... Typically on those multiplayer console games.  Sometimes they'd ask "why?" (school friends) other times they'd just say "okay, whatever" (close friends) or have no reaction whatsoever (cousins... Then their dad came in and was like "what"?).  But, yeah, lol.  I feel ya!

I've always chosen male characters when playing video games. I'm a writer, and every time I write a story or book from 1st person perspective, it's from a male perspective. I've never liked female names, not for myself at least, and had a great time trying to choose my male name, because I like male names so much. I think these preferences just go way back... but as to thinking other chicks should want to be guys, or guys should want to be chicks, I haven't had much of that. I admire other guys (only when they're worthy of that admiration, of course), and just about worship women... though more as foreign entities about whom I know very little, and as some of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Any woman who ever chanced upon a relationship with me would be worshipped, obviously... but I can't imagine they'd ever want to be male.

I almost always created female characters for role playing and other games.  The only time I really deviated from that was playing Shadowrun for the first time.

A little bit before I transitioned, I went to FL to visit a friend and his wife for a few days.  During the course of my stay he broke out one of the consoles and loaded up a wrestling game.  He had been asking his close friends to create a character unique to them and would then save it to the card.  He asked me to do the same and followed up with, "I am sure it will be a female character."  LOL, yup.
