"Another trans ally has been attacked defending a few trans teenagers
<http://www.ny1.com/ny1/content/index.jsp?stid=1&aid=83545> , and
right here in Queens, NY.

People often wonder why, as an ally, I get so upset about violence
against trans people, but I know that as much as I'd prefer to be the
type of person who would run & save myself, I'd be the idiot who got
in the transphobic ->-bleeped-<-'s way."

I thought this was good article yesterday as well! >:D

Ya know, donations for a non-profit like that are probably very useful and would certainly support trans-people where the rubber meets the road: on the street. Now that they are having to move it'd be nice if they could get a place in a quieter, somewhat more expensive neighborhood where they can at least go outside and relax.

But, non-profits like this one are almost invariably relegated to seedier neighborhoods because they cannot afford the expense of buying a location in a more expensive neighborhood than the one they were in. Just don't make a lot of money sheltering trans kids. *sigh*
