Has anyone here seen this movie? It is quite sad, but good.
I know it is from a true story. I rented it from Netflix, if it weren't for that I may
have never heard of this movie.

it's based on calpernia addams and barry winchell's story.  yes i've seen it.  depressing!  on another note, calpernia looks very different now.  i think she's had plastic surgery, maybe cheek implants too?

She looks different than what? Calpernia didn't appear in the movie; she was played by Lee Pace. But I suppose she looks different than she did then nonetheless. You can check out Calpernia's telling of the story and her take on the movie at her website.
All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.

oh? really i thought they were the same person ::) ::) ::)

actually she did appear in the movie (if you have the dvd) where she talks about her experience. comparing her looks then to what she looks now, she has obviously had plastic surgery.

Yes, I was aware that is a true story. So sad. It is good story though. It was filmed near my hometown too.
I hate that she lost someone who loved her for her.

Anyways, I just thought it was a good sad movie.

Not really into plastic surgery, but hey, if that's what someone wants to do.

Really Susan? Wow.
I didn't know it was on the list, under Wiki I think, after I posted this. Sorry.
I didn't mean to re-repeat this movie then.
I looked up Calpernia, cool. :) I like her site, what I see of it.

Thanks for responding everyone. :)

She seems lovely. I requested an add for her to myspace. Cool. Look forward to getting to know more about her, especially her story.

Calpernia has also written a book about this whole experience and more, called "Mark 947." It's quite good.
