does anyone else get pms-y?

Wellll, I want to know lol. Cos every month about three days before the full moon I get weepy and/or bitchy. Since everybody told me i wouldn't cycle--and of course it is true that I don't bleed--I was completely at sea the first couple of times this happened. Now I know to expect it, but I've never heard any other trans mention this. Estrogen-induced mood swings, yes. But pms? Can I get a witness, ladies?

My regiment includes Provera for ten days every month at the same time.  And my friend Peggy always knows because she says you started didn't you.  I ask how would you know that.  Duh, she is a natal woman after all.  She says because you're Bit**y.

Okay I can except that makes me feel more natural.

Yes, it's possible. Cycles tend to be part of everyone's life. It's just you and I may be better able to actually see and understand them better when we are watching our bodies and moods as a matter of course.

I definitely have those monthly swings, not so bad now as before the estrogen levels evened. But, yes, you are not alone.

What this says is that your hypothalamus is sensitive to estrogen.  This happens when you get a little extra prenatal estrogen which is also one of the theoretical causes of transsexuality.

As a child my mother noticed I get the hick-ups whenever it was her time of the month, I also got mood swings. I still get the mood swings (pre-hrt).

When I was a teenager, before SRS, my first blood work (age 18) showed unusually high estrogen (for a male) and that it was cyclic. I was aware of the cycles then. After surgery, my hormone levels dropped to almost none and I was on daily estrogen tables for years. I was not aware of any cyclic changes, however .....

I had been with my husband 8 or 10 years when the subject of PMS came up at a dinner party. I said I was fortunate to not suffer from PMS and the look my husband gave me was one of incredulity! When we got home, he showed me the markings on the calendar on the kitchen wall. so THAT'S what those marks were for - HE was keeping track so he knew which days were good to be especially nice 

So apparently I did not suffer from PMS but he DID! LOL!

before surgery i was on quite a lot of estrogen.  i don't really think i cycled, my attacks were random and generally pretty short lived.  since surgery i'm sill on a small dose and <i think> i'm pretty stable.

ohhhh god I sooo do.  Admittedly I turn into a b@#ch every few weeks.  Can't say I know why exactly but it seems to coincide with those days when i am late between pills, especially if I sleep in too late.  When that happens it takes about two days to come back down to normal.  In the meantime I think I am kind of hard to be around.  I recognize when I feel that way and try my best to not be b!tchy.

I have not had the pleasure of PMT because I have not yet engaged with prescribed hormone therapy but I have this 'ratty' feeling every month when the big bills need paying...does this count?   Of course, if I did get HRT symtoms after getting hormone therapy I might be rather gratified because I shall better understand how women feel and their moods etc.,     🙂

lol, yup, i do. i get the real FULL thing though, cramps, bloating, emotional problems, acne, bleeding (dont ask from where), ect, ect. im intersexed though and that should be happening but still it bites big time because its painful but in a way i like it because i know its there and is confirming the obvious. 😀

I get very snappy and moody and throw tantrums, but thankfully it only happens twice a year.

they usually last about six months each though :S
