Excerpt: NHS primary care trusts will only fund tattoo removal if
doctors agree the patient is at risk of psychological damage.

Two years ago, sex-swap sailor Tanya Bainbridge, from Manchester, was
granted free NHS treatment for her tattoos.

Miss Bainbridge, born Brian and a father of nine children by three
different women, was given the free treatment because she claimed her
tattoos made her feel 'unladylike'.
