Can I call you "Nate?" :o

Lol, for a while I considered the name Nathaniel. But it just didn't fit me.

I like the names Nathan and Nathaniel.  Part of the reason I picked Jonathan.  I can go by Nate later if I want (when I move) when people don't know me by my female J name.

Jay that is so cool XD I actually knew a guy named Jonathan who made me begin to question who I am, and I will always be grateful to him for it cause I'm so much happier with myself now. I picked Nathaniel partially because of him, and partially because I love it and it fits me. I'm fine with being called Nate or Nathan though, I know people can get lazy :D I think it's awesome that you're picking 'out of the box' nicknames for Jonathan too.

Yeah. I think I have been doing RLE for a long time, minus using the name/pronouns.

My mom is VERY confused...

XD Most moms would be. When I told my mom I was cutting my hair, she was all "oh are you going to go natural and do a fro (I HATE FROS on me) like your cousin?" The question made me sick to my stomach cause I don't want to look like her at all. People still swear to god that I'm her shadow, just because I looked up to her when I was younger. No, I don't want a feminine fro, I want to look like a boy. But try explaining that to a mom :) Moms are always confused, and have to think you're doing something like someone else to help them put the pieces together instead of just figuring you're trying to be yourself.

I guess my mom's question came from right field because I forgot my cousin chopped all her hair off this summer and grew a fro. No, I'm probably never going to have a fro mom and I didn't cut my hair the same summer because of her.

Yeah. My mom deep down knew something was up, but she'd never admit it to herself. I still don't think she has. But before I leave Southern California, I'm going to let her know that I'll be starting transition. This year, hopefully.
