Now instead of staying home tending to the garden, they two are regulars at political dinners, rallies and at Empire State Pride Agenda events. In April, they traveled to Albany for Equality and Justice Day, where they lobbied lawmakers regarding issues affecting gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transsexual individuals.

Just when they thought things had calmed down, in May, Gov. David Paterson issued a memo acknowledging the Martinez v. Monroe County ruling by the Appellate Court, and urging all agencies that receive state funding to abide by the law.
