Hi, Haru,

Thanks for compliments and interesting view.

While I was in Seattle and when I returned to my country, I noticed that East Asian people tend to gaze at me more than other ethnic groups. Even when I wear casuals, Asian women showed more interest in me.

Tonight, I waited a public bus to my home. A sexy-looking girl sat on the bench next to me. She was beautiful. There was heavy traffic because it is Saturday night near the beach. I stood up to smoke. It is unusual that a women smoke in public in my country. Nevertheless, there are a lot of foreigners in this area and it is not unusual that alien women smoke in public. People inside passing cars gazed at me, not at the young girl.

A family was in the passenger car passing slowly just in front of me. The driver (husband) gazed at me, but he was busy driving. Then his wife and son gaze at me. The woman continued to look back at me even though their car passed me by about 10 meters. Fortunately she smiled at me. I also gazed at her. And suddenly she winked at me.

At first, it was perplexing. But nowadays, I realize that people may think I look funny. They do not have any evil intention. They probably think I am a kind of entertainer or star.

I will be glad if anybody would employ me as a model even without pay. People who take photos for me are all amateur. Sigh~

They're probably just amazed that an asian woman can be so tall compared to themselves, they probably look at you the same way I would get looks if I where to move to Korea or something, I'm only average hight for an american male, but I would seem like a giant to most of them.

I've never been too good at taking pictures, although a good friend of mine was an amateur photographer.
My only skills are drawing, and sculpting. If you ever come down near Tennessee, I'll draw you a picture.

I'm not even very tall, but when I walk through Chinatown I'm a full head above anyone else.  So, its not a good place to hide.

Ya, some of them might even be able to see up my skirt without even needing to bend down. Either way I'm far too shy to go out in public anyhow.

come to think of it, I've never been to a Chinatown, they didn't have them back in canada, and the foreign food market is even more scarce down in knoxville.

closest thing we have here is a few asian markets/clothing stores.

Every time i walk past the asian clothing store and see all those cute frilly little outfits, my heart jumps, and I feel so sad that I they don't have anything in my size...  ;_;

Chinatown is SF is old, and large (even though most people of Chinese decent do not live there, its still packed).  SF has the largest Chinese New Years celebration outside of Asia I think.

Sorry to be dumb, but whats SF?

Also I've been meaning to ask, is your avatar a picture of you?  cause if so, I must say you have some really nice legs, and that outfit is really cute.

Hi Haru, I believe you will find a China town in any of the larger cities, I saw one in Toronto and we have one here in Vancouver. I have seen them but have never stopped to go and explore them. Well Wing Walker and I went to a restaurant which was on the edge of China town.

I have been in Knoxville and most of the other places on the east side of Tennessee, lived in Morristown for a time, at the foot of Clinch Mountain and that little village on top of the mountains that was called Washburn. I am only 5'3" tall so it would be the other way around for me I would be examining their clothes from nose level.  ;D

Thanks, I'll need to check one of them out whenever I decide to randomly move again.

You'll have to tell me what types of undies they wear then. : P

Ah, i see.

I wonder if I'll ever end up there, If I ever get a chance I'll have to visit Chinatown there.

I'm sorta all over the place at the moment, just going wherever theres people that will let me stay. After I get my green card, I might just end up in north korea, for all I know.

Hey  Haru hon, you move about a lot to huh. I love moving about. I done a lot of traveling actually I didn't stay anywhere long enough to hang my hat in the same state or province where ever I was at the time. I loved living like a gypsy in my truck and camper. I lived on the road from 1980 to 1990 then again resumed traveling again for a short time after I met Wing Walker. We are now residing here in Vancouver. I had my feet in the Pacific Ocean and Atlantic ocean. "Hee, hee, hee". You know, I don't regret doing all that travel. I only miss one person the most and she was a sister who lived on Long Island, she was a healer, a beautiful soul.

Hi, Haru,

A few years ago, I stopped in Tennessee while triping to Smoky mountains. It looked like rather rural area compared with other East Coast states. I know only "Gone with the wind" on Tennessee.

Drawing or sketching me as a model would be more fantastic than photograph. Some people once commented that my legs and muscles look very peculiar because my body neither is masculine nor feminine, or both. I heard that some ancient and even modern artists have seeked androgynous body as their ultimate model.

Hi, tekla,

I think stereotype on East Asian people comes from Chinese.

Regarding average height, even in 100 years ago when people here were not fed well, Koreans were on average taller than Chinese or Japanese. Nowadays, young Koreans are tallest among Asians, and on average not significantly shorter than westerners except some Scandinavian and its adjacent countries (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_height). For example, the average height of South Korean males at 19-24 years old is 175.0 cm (5' 8.8") whereas that of US is 175.8 cm (5' 9.3"). Comparing this figure with North Korea, we can know that nutrition is a critical factor in determining average height.

Traditionally, northern Chinese are taller than southern Chinese, because people have been actively intermixed in the areas corresponding to modern northeastern  china (Dongbei in Chinese), particularly with Altaic people such as Manchurians, Koreans, Huns, and Mongolians who typically leaded nomadic life together with agriculture. Southern Chinese traditionally have been farmers.

I am sure the 2007 Miss World is a descendent from northern Chinese:

http://en.rian.ru/photolents/20071203/90611191_2.html

She is as tall as me.

Another new trend among young Koreans is overweight. I think it is serious because I see a lot of overweighted kids compared with 15 years ago. Overweight of kids is more serious problem in my country than in the U.S. I guess every 1 of 2 or 3 kids are overweight in my country.

Cindy

the reason I'm traveling around so much isn't really because I feel like it, but more because I just don't have anywhere to call home at the moment. the few people that still cared about me have abandoned me, and i'm sort f just drifting looking for somewhere to live, and friends that willl accept me.

I would have loved to travel in any other circumstances, but the entire 24 hour bus ride up here was just ruined by all the pent up stress and unresolved emotions.

I'm not sure why it is that androgynous people have been sought after for sculptures and painters, but I personally think it has something to do with wanting your art to surpass gender, whenever someone looks at a picture or painting of a person, the first thing they do is identify the persons gender, when they are unable to identify it at first glance they tend to stare at it longer and try to identify it by the finer details, because of this even a regular person who has little interest in art, will be able to get full appreciation of the picture that you worked so hard on.

there's nothing worse for an artist than to work on a picture for hours on end to get even the tiniest detail perfect, and then have someone just glance at it briefly and say "wow your so amazing, I'm so jealous of your talent!" when this happens to me I have difficulty in not just walking away, or telling them to go suck a brick.

well I've kinda gotten off topic here, but ya I think thats one of the many reasons for prizing androgynous models so much.

Hi Haru I am sorry to hear about that. Well most of my previous traveling was spent in searching for something and maybe also an escape. All I had was that truck and camper that was my home. As to finding a home I wish I could help you and maybe we can depending if you can make it all the way to BC. We have a truly good TS suport system here that will help you find accomodations and jobs.

In my apartment, one little girl shows favor interest in me. I guess she is 10-12 years old, which is the same as my first son, but she looks more matured. Although she is a little girl, I can sense beauty as a lady. She always smiles at me and says hello to me. I once saw his parents who looked younger than me. Yesterday afternoon, when I walked along the road, I heard somebody say hello to me. At that time, I wore very tight capris and tees with a straw hat and a sunglass. I looked back. She smiled and bowed politely to me across the road. I guess, at least, she does not consider me as a freak. Or, it is possible that her parents taught her to do such way to me.
