Wow. I haven't seen this movie since I was 6 watching it on VHS. I woke up a couple hours early today and decided to watch it in HULU and I've fallen in love with it all over again.
Gosh it brought back a lot of warm and comforting childhood memories. The movie was directed by Don Bluth, who also made other kid-movie masterpieces like
All Dogs go to Heaven
An American Tale
The Land Before Time
Titan A.E.
All of them I hold close to my heart. One day I hope to own all of these DVDs so I can show them to my children one day. It's the reason why I collect any DVD. It is because I found them to be cinematic wonders and I hope to give my children that spark of wonder, fantasy and deep thought these movies sparked in me.
EDIT: lol this makes me think of the novel truth that, even if all my DVDs I buy are bluray, by the time I show them to my children I will have to be "dusting off the ol' bluray player" and watching these movies while thinking "gosh I can't believe this low resolution used to be considered high definition"
