Gay rights group's endorsement draws protest

When it came time for MassEquality to make its endorsement earlier this summer, Harkness' work apparently could not trump the Beacon Hill votes of incumbent state Rep. Pam Richardson, D-Framingham.
The organization's endorsement of Richardson has drawn the protest of Harkness, who chalked up such dealings as "politics as usual."
