Deceiving Ourselves

http://radnichole.wordpress.com/2008/08/07/deceiving-ourselves/

Yesterday I wrote about so-called deceptive transsexuals and how the attitude in the media and general population of cissexuals has it that we women who have or are transsexing are seen as either "pathetic" or "deceptive." The truth of the matter is, sometimes we are. Just not in the ways most of you imagine.

It seems to me that we are more likely to be deceptive of ourselves and other trans women than we are to be deceptive toward cissexuals. For instance, I truly believe that Angie Zapata could have been absolutely straight forward with Allen Andrade about her history. I believe she could have told him exactly what was up with her transition. I believe that he might have accepted that. I believe that he could have gone out with her knowing exactly what was between her legs. I believe that he then might have killed her to try to prevent anyone else knowing he had dated a transsexual. Mercedes Allen very fortunately left a comment on yesterday's post that may show that Angie did not tell Mr. Andrade due to her profile here.
