Kinda getting into photography

My mates are into it. I remember at art college i took GCSE photography with my mates and i wasn't all that good at it. I really enjoyed it, but my mates would produce so much better images than me.

But i think i'm starting to get the hang of it and get back into it. Espesh now i got my new camera  Take a look at what i got so far:

I studied with a guy and his best advice was, 'if you want one awesome picture, take 1000.'

yep, i learned that lesson myself.

I'd take a real good picture and then find out the data was corrupt... or it'd look real good on the digital mini screen but when you haul it up on the PC it's slightly out of focus and a little blurry 

So yeah... i tend to try and take lots of pictures of the same thing to make sure there will be a best!

The kitty is my fav.  Very nice composition and focus.

The second is the dried rose.  You might try reshooting that one in natural light to get rid of the flash shadow.

I'm getting back into photography too! I've missed it. I'm going out this Thursday with a professional to do some nature shooting up in Yosemite National Park.  I'm really jazzed to tag along.

I saw these flowers on oak trees this past week.  I've never seen them before.  Of all our oak trees there is only one tree that has only two bunches on them.  And they are very very small.

well digital imaging has changed things for sure.  Used to be a 5x7 was a good size, and snapshots were even smaller.  but when you have a 21 inch screen you see problems that would not be noticed on a smaller scale.

And the photoshop type programs are pretty cool, but it takes a lot of work with them to get the effects subtle enough.  I think at first I went overboard, but I've got better at using them to a minimum, rather than to the max.

I think second was that he told me to start to create studies.  Things that I almost had a fetish about.  So for me its graveyards and lights, a bunch of lights at one of my jobs I have taken thousands of shots of, and keep on working at them.  But like the graves, I have gone in the morning, afternoon, dusk, hot sunny days, in rain, and work on not only taking the shots, but trying to understand how the conditions change the image.

Next time take the cat at eye level. Same for kids... makes the shot more interesting...
