What an interesting position. In this country gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered people are a minority, and so to hear a member of a minority group argue that what is best for the majority of that minority group is what matters can give a person pause.

Our successes should be defined by the ways in which we stand tall, honorably and ethically, as a single community, whether we win or lose any given battle. If we don't, we are all vulnerable to divide and conquer tactics.

I think this statement sums it all up. Like I said in a previous post, if we are all fighting for our own rights, then we're going to be fighting far longer than coming together and fighting the battle as one collective unit.

Not to mention winning.  Individual rights are won by groups, not single people.

I am glad that I live in Oregon.  Here we are included in the state anti-discrimination laws.
