Many intersex persons around the world and their allies are concerned
about the new nomenclature, DSD or "Disorders of Sex Development",
which has been endorsed by the Chicago Consensus (1) to replace the
term "intersex". We believe that the categories proposed are not only
demeaning, but also scientifically flawed.
