ok, i live in Ohio, so as far as I'm concerned male-to-females have to have the complete surgery. which started my wife and i on the topic of srs and drivers license, etc. she asked what would be the causes an mtf would not be able to have srs, and all i could say or find on the net, is not having enough skin.

anyone else know of any other reasons?

Money, for some surgeons age will be a factor, and there are medical conditions that will preclude surgery for some by possibly causing death on the table. No surgeon will do a very risky surgury for SRS with someone who has major hypertension or hyptension problems, for instance. It's a decidedly bad business to have a patient die on your surgery table.

I had an inguinal hernia patched up a few years ago, and since the scar is dangerously close to that area, its made me wonder if it'd be a complication.

Morbid obesity, HIV infection, diabetes, hemophilia and money of course.  Other than that, I don't see any other reason for not having it done since SRS is a well-established medical procedure with not so many risks/complications as some people might think.

I knew someone who could not have it due to severe problems that occurred while sedated, no matter what the docs tended to use. She knew about it ahead of time but it still really stinks.

I knew someone else who had a plastic surgeon write a letter that she had irreversible gender surgery after she had a boob job and that worked (of course the exact surgery was never mentioned in the letter).

Syne, where(state) did she have it done? i still don't know what i would need other than irreversible gender surgery.
