I don't really care if this is the wrong place or not...I'll probably get more replies if I put it where people actually read.

I always thought my worst birthday ever was the year I turned 15 and my grandma died 4 days before the big day. It's not that I was particularly close to her or anything...it just kind of put a damper on anything birthday related. That probably sounds incredibly selfish but I didn't know my grandma too well...

Well I think this birthday tops turning 15. I've been stuck at home since my internship ended with the first of August...and I was really looking forward to this week because I don't start school til next week but all my friends from college are flying back in now. Or should be flying back in. I've been going crazy being home this long with barely anything to do...and really just looking forward to being with friends again. But here I am stuck at home on my 21st with 60 mph wind and rain outside my window, some of my friends' flights being stalled, and nothing to do but stare at my family's faces for yet ANOTHER 24 hours so to speak.

All I really wanted for my birthday this year was to be surrounded by friends again and be out of the house. I don't care if I sound whiny or not, I know there are worse things in the world but I figure you should at least get to feel special one day a year... Instead I just burst into tears everytime someone wishes me a happy birthday. Thanks to those of you who've wished me one, not your fault that I'm feeling the way I'm feeling right now.

And now I've got a nosebleed to top it all off.

Well, once your friends get into town, call a do-over. -grin- I think you're allowed at least a handful of those. Sometimes birthdays don't work out too well, but the specific day is actually pretty insignificant. At least I think so. So yeah. Call birthday shenanigans and try again. In all seriousness...hope you feel better soon, man.

Dude I know exactly how you feel.  My birthday, July 8th, fell right when I was a camp counselor.  I was living at that camp 24/7 and we weren't allowed to have our cell phones out unless it was before the kids woke up or after they went to bed and we were done with work.  Meaning from about 6 AM to 6:30 AM, and past Midnight.  I only got text messages and voicemails, because I couldnt answer my phone all day.  All that surrounded me were stupid kids and fellow counselors.  Heck, my own boyfriend had to leave me 5 voicemails just to tell me all he wanted to say lol

All I wanted to do was to spend my special day with my family and friends.  The one good thing was they surprised me with cupcakes.  But man, it was awful.  I hope you have a brighter one though, Nate. I can only tell you that one day, your birthday is gonna ROCK *Birthday hug*

Blame Mother Nature, Nathan.

You are, after all in the middle of a tropic storm.
Gravity is quite correct and if you wont, I will. "DO OVER"

Have fun when they get there, it is only a date after all.  It is the people that are important.

:icon_birthday: any way.

Thank you guys, I'm feeling a WHOLE lot better about it now. You're right it's just a date. As long as class schedules don't interfere next week I should be able to do everything I wanted to.

Now on the lighter side of things, does anyone of you wise people have tips on how to get a girlfriend? :D Just kidding. Sort of. Hahaha

OkCupid, all the way. That'll probably be my top recommendation for the rest of forever.  I met my boyfriend on there.  And also some friends that I think I'll have for a long time, despite never having met them in real life.  It's just a really...quirky, fun, accepting sort of site, and yeah, you'll get the occasional weirdo messaging you, but the ratio of weirdos to supercutegirls will more than likely end up in your favor.

Of course, you could always, like...go to the mall or something.  But that's boriiing.

Funny thing is, I've been a member on that site for months :D But I'm still listed as a lesbian...It was kinda irritating cause most of the lesbians on there were just looking for friends. Why go to "okcupid" to find friends, idk. I wonder if I change my info around, will the straight girls be as accepting as your boyfriend :)

Well, from anecdotal evidence, straight girls seem to be more accepting. So I would think you could find someone relatively easily. And I mean...if you really want to make sure people are accepting, you could out yourself in your profile. You might not be comfortable with that, though. But I do think you should change your ID to straight guy and see what happens.

Aw man, I'm sorry bout your birthday. But yeah, my favorite days have never been my birthdays. Holidays in my family, someone always ends up crying or feeling like it. I don't look forward to them anymore unless I'm getting a present, or when I turn 18.

About girls, I have no clue. I've only been with girls as a lesbian. Gluck tho.
