What should Obama say to America this week? I asked a gay rights advocate, a black Hillary Clinton delegate, and my favorite Catholic priest, the controversial Rev. Michael Pfleger.

Rick Garcia says the message is inclusion. A record 300 openly gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender party delegates will be in force at Denver's Pepsi Center, including 10 from Illinois. The GLBT contingent will be hoisting cosmopolitans to "the best Democratic Party platform we have ever had," notes Garcia, the director of public policy for Equality Illinois. The party platform rejects a constitutional ban on same sex marriage. "That bodes very well for GLBTs."
