Miss Chief Eagle is the Cher-lookalike drag persona of Kent Monkman,
the Toronto-based artist whose art rewrites history. Monkman creates
paintings, videos and installations in which cowboys, Mounties and
soldiers get ravished by male Indians, including the cross-dressing
Chief Eagle. The paintings are done in the style of 19th century
nature scenes by the American artist George Caitlan, except no
soldiers were ravished by Indians in his creations.
