Filled in and sent away my name change form today. Changing it to Alex Six R********. I am so excitted as soon as it comes through I am going to change all my details, I can't wait till at work ppl start calling me Alex instead of my stupid girly name.

Did it without telling my Mum first, I am too affraid she would guilt trip me out of doing it. I spoke with my sister today and just mentioned it in passing as if it where no big deal. "Oh, btw I changed my name to Alex," she questioned it for a bit and then said she would try and call me Alex from now on in, so I guess she is cool with it. I'm betting on the fact that she will tell my mother, when I call my Mum next ill just be like "So you know I changed my name right?" as if it is no big deal

Hopefully she wont see it as a big deal and won't act disapointed and upset with me. I dont care if they still call me my girl name, but for everyone else it is now Alex.

I'm excitted, hopefully will start taking T by the end of October. I pass well as a guy anyways, but T will help with my voice and body shape a bit better.

Yay!

Congratulations, Alex.  That's so exciting for you, I'm sure.   :)

Hmm...

I know asking for "Alex 6 R..." would cause a problem.
There have been precedents in places that a number can't be used as a name.
I have no idea if they'll balk at "Six".

I hope that it works out Ok.

it'll be fine six and seven are pretty common for names. And it is just my middle name, not first.

If ppl can call there kids first names Apple and Sunday Rose and crap like that, I'm sure Ill be fine  :D

That's my bio name :) Haha

Apple? or Sunday?

LOL, just kidding dude.

MY bio name was so girly is drove me crazy, I used to be called Luke at school, but my folks put a stop to it, because it was no name for a young lady (Yuk!)

I was going to change it to Luke but I thought I would go more gender-neutral and liked Alex the best.

Hmm. I was going to do some sort of form with like, the DMV or something, but that's just an alias. I have to go all the way to social security to have it really changed legally. :/

I'll probably hold off the legal process until I'm not in school. During a break.

It's incredibly easy in California to change your name.  You can change your social security card, passport and such with an updated license/ID from the DMV while you're waiting for court stuff (2 months or so) to go through.  You can open a bank account, buy a car, etc etc with the new ID.  And you'd have to do the DMV's paperwork to get an updated license anyway- they won't take name change paperwork, just their internal form.  Ah, red tape...
