Blum said GBLSU was open to transgender people and those who identify as "queer," but the organization's title did not specify their inclusion.

Blum said the flexibility of sexual orientation makes Spectrum an appropriate name change.

"Not all people are strictly gay or strictly bisexual," Blum said. "It's all very fluid. So just like a spectrum, it's never ending, and you never know exactly where it changes color."
