I was a teenager during the pre-Spencer W. Kimball years when the black members of our church were denied the priesthood. I remember feeling in my soul that the reasons given for this absurd church policy were horribly wrong, but I was a weak conformist and did nothing. Since then the church's spiritual evolution has progressed to where we presently can't fathom and are continually embarrassed over our past support of a moronic belief.
