I'm 123 pounds, 5'7". So somewhat thin. Unfortunately, I'm surprisingly curvy... I do swim, though, so at least I've got a good set of shoulders, which (mostly) offsets my hips.

Weight effects shape, for me, when I gain weight it increases my "womanly curves" which are the opposite of what I want. Trying to be unrecognisable to either gender is kinda hard when you have childbaring hips, a dead giveaway of gender  :P

I don't like it XD

Pica Pica

Just got some definitive stats.

I am 5ft7.7 and I weigh 224.8 pounds... apparently I am 33% fat, I know cakes with lower fat percentages. Many cakes.

by the way, 5 feet, 10 inches is 8 inches taller than Pica,

turns out you are only 2 and a smidgeon taller...but a lot skinnier.

My weight is a huge issue for me.  I have a very conventionally female pattern of fat distribution; I didn't look the way I wanted to look even when I was skinny, but the more overweight I get the more pronounced the femininity of my body becomes.  It's easy to say that gender is entirely internal and fat shouldn't matter, but when you can't even begin to bind your top and you've got a bum the size of a Routemaster bus it stops being about the number on the scale. There's also the fact that more fat = more oestragen, and so on.

Oh yeah, and before anyone succumbs to the temptation to tell me to just man up and lose the weight--I've dropped 3 clothing sizes since June.  It hasn't helped.

I guess weight is just one piece of the puzzle. It is one thing to be overweight, but another to have gender identity related body dyphoria on top of that. Weight probably becomes much more of a burden. Losing weight might not get rid of the dysphoria but perhaps in the long run it will make things easier?

How does more fat=more estorgen? I would love to learn more.

you make a good point. because weight distribution is very gendered in some people, it could increase dysphoria like if a male bodied andro got a huge beer gut or a female bodied, a huge behind.

(Not a doctor, this is just what I've learned from reading about nutrition)

Fat--whether you're eating it or carrying it around as adipose cells, has an enzyme that converts adrenal steroids into oestragen.  More oestragen means more fat being laid down on the body so it's a vicious circle.

That's my current problem, for sure.  If I could take my Buddha belly and transfer it to my hips/butt, I'd actually be pretty happy.  Having a big butt isn't great, but at least it's more feminine than a beer gut and a flat pooper.  :)  Alas, that won't happen, so I guess I need to get off my duff and get back to that gym thing...  Shame my new job has been keeping me so enthralled.  :P

I once saw a shirt that said, "I have the body of a god. Unfortunately, it's the Buddha."

I would indeed love to be skinny'er, as i feel like a thinner type of person inside, luckily i've got small breasts and are generally muscular, even if i never do any kind of sports. Kinda ironic.

It's just i'm very curvy, so being thinner would reduce that part.

I don't think I need to be any thinner or fatter. I'm already in the healthy range for my height of 5' 9". I've heard that extra weight just exaggerates where the fat is placed. According to my chest, waist, and hip measurements, I'm a pear shaped person. I think that means that my body tends to store fat in the butt, hips, and thighs first -- which doesn't bother me in the least.

I was blessed with a very female seeming body for a male. I only weigh about 112 lbs, Ive got a tiny frame, am about 5'5 and somehow fat distributes on my chest, buns and thighs.
