I think many MTFs will recognize the line above. For those who don't know, watch the first scene in Transamerica. It's the famous mantra from the Andrea James's Deep Stealth voice practice CD. My T friends crack me up every time they chant that line in an exaggerated booming male voice.
Grrr...I hate my voice! It's so much work. I have to warm it up a little every time before I'm about to speak with a stranger. Whenever I mess up, I can see the other person's eyes widen just for that split second. At that moment, I quickly finish my business and get the hell out of there.
