It looks like it's been a little slow around here.  I'd like to stir up some ideas for discussion. So, what's good material? I ask myself.  And squirrel points out the obvious. She reads it every time she comes to Susan's with me.

At the top of each page we see:

"We stand at the crossroads of gender balanced on the sharp edge of a knife."

So, what does this statement mean to you?  Does it apply to some aspect of your personality? How? Why?

Don't be shy. Speak up... you lurkers too. We'd love to hear from you.

Well, since I've been researching it a lot lately, that statement sounds like it's about surgery to me.

I always thought of it as a catchy phrase that I never thought too much about.

So, thinking about it (just off the cuff):  To me it implies a precarious balance, on an edge that will hurt us if we fall but since it is on a crossroad the freedom is there to go in any direction we would like.

It doesn't really feel like something I can relate personally to, though.

Que?
Hey!

Sounds good to me
an idea or two or three
is what we're looking for
some interesting chit chat or
conversation to pass the time.
Give me two centavos and
I'll give you a dime
for something that gets the
juices flowing,
the ideas growing.
Choices at the crossroads
hefting a heavier load
than most will ever care
to bear.
Coast and slide,
climb, or hide.
Potential paths unumbered
will uncumber you only
if you can't choose.

The knife? I don't know
The strife? I've lived.

There's love to give
and some to take from
those who have some to spare.
Yes, there are those that care.
They've been there and know.
Cherished life yearns to grow.

To me it means that we are a fortunate/unfortunate few that are given a choice of living the lif we have lived or change ourselves for the better, yet we must be careful and not make the WRONG decisions.  We must be careful and considerate of ourselves and think and learn WHo we ARE and WHAT we NEED.

The wrong path of the fork, will utterly destroy us, while the right one is filled with much tribulations and trials, trying to sway you to take the "easier" path.

To me that statement reminds me every time I log on,  to be gental to be careing. because it is not an easy road to follow.
I consider that statement every time I log on.   some times it hurts to see the pain here... and I have to retreat for self preservation, other times I feel as its trivial, and all you have to do is just get your stuff togather and do it !  ....  I for one am thankfull that statement is there ! it means alot to me.... and a constant reminder to be thankfull for !
