QuoteBut I want to get into something else: The argument over who organized first. Trans people were there at the beginning. We were part of the movement right at the start - not all of us, but enough of us. We were pushed out of the gay rights movement just as surely as trans women were pushed out of feminism.

And when arguments that we didn't pay our dues, do our education, that we weren't there when the gay rights movement was making its gains, it makes me deeply angry, because it wasn't our choice to step out. It was yours to throw us out. Consider the damage that was done to trans people's civil rights by keeping us out of the process, that put us in a position where we're seen as not having done enough education.

Actually, the T of various kind came out and were millitant, way before the gays and lesbians.
I still don't get how the current gay organisation try and rewrite history.

When I read the blog post that was also the first thing I thought.
Aww gee I wonder what started the <insert big mess of letters> rights movement in the first place?
