Excerpt: One who made the cut is retired Detective Tommy Mansfield of
Queens Homicide, who tells of a "routine" schoolyard stabbing that
took an unusual turn when a doctor revealed the teenage killer was a
hermaphrodite, born with male and female sex organs. A bully had
discovered the teen's medical condition and threatened to expose it.
