Mould Memoir on the Way

Local rocker Bob Mould is writing a memoir, New York publishing house Little, Brown and Co. announced yesterday.

Mould -- founder in the late '70s of pioneering post-punk outfit Hüsker Dü and frontman of the now-defunct '90s alt-rock band Sugar -- these days is a successful solo artist and DJ with local dance music artist Richard Morel. (Mould co-hosts Blowoff, a touring dance party often held at the 9:30 club). The look back will cover Mould's career as well as his "internal struggle with his sexuality, the coming-out process, and his subsequent embrace of, and service to" the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, according to a news release posted on Mould's blog. It will also touch on his work as a record producer and his days as a creative consultant for the WCW professional wrestling league.

The book, being written with Michael Azerrad, is due out in fall 2010.
