It is very rare that fashion follows politics. After all, Hillary
Clinton's pantsuit was more often mocked than rocked. But in the 21st
century, equal opportunity has led to equal pay, equal rights, and
this season, equal fashion. No, I'm not talking about the man-skirt
that Marc Jacobs was most recently sporting. I'm talking about
Menswear for Women, the hottest trend of fall 2008.
The first time you saw a tailored blazer may have been in your
father's closet, but now they're all over the runway. Designers have,
thankfully, tailored them for a woman's physique by trimming the hips
and shortening the tail. They have also crafted them in diverse
fabrics, patterns, and colors so that the blazer is practically
custom-made for every female consumer.
