Gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual and straight county residents, family and friends, both young and old, gathered in Arcata on Sunday for Humboldt Pride Incorporated's second annual Pride Festival and Parade.

This year's theme was "Live Proud, Have Joy, Take Action."

Beginning in Arcata's Stewart Park, residents, as well as flags, several floats and musical accompaniment from Humboldt State University's Marching Lumberjacks, made their way down to the Plaza to continue the celebration. There, a number of booths lined the sidewalk and live performances were set to take place. For many, the event provided an opportunity to raise awareness and embrace diversity.
