That's right, I'm curious about transition without the T.  Why are you choosing to transition without it?  Not talking about being afraid of family approval or finances preventing you or even a medical issue.  I'm talking  perfectly healthy, financially sound, independent adult who is choosing to forgo testosterone.

Man. I don't know. Everyone I know who doesn't want T has medical reasons for it...

Do we have anyone here 'ransitioning'? I don't think it's actually possible for most guys to transition without T (and by transition, I mean the world sees a man when you walk down the street) unless they want to look and sound like a pre-pubescent boy for eternity. Course, there are always exceptions but most of us aren't going to be able to live without T.

But back to the question -

Reasons I would 'Ransition' if I could:

1) T doesn't make the man.

2) Hairy chests and asses don't make the man.

3) Bass voices don't make the man, etc, etc...

4) Already have a powerful libido and great sex life

Really though, I just don't care about any of that. The only plus with T (other than passing) I see is muscle building ease. Had I gotten all that T has to offer during puberty, I'dve been thrilled but as it stands all that's just going to be an annoyance. A means to an end.

But I may find I actually enjoy the hormone once on it. Stranger things have happened.

I want T not to be seen as a man. I already pass. I just would like to have more masculine features. I'd feel safer in my own skin.

I don't think being hairy of having a deep voice would make me more of a man. But that's how I want to look and feel. I see all of T's effects as a plus.

My thoughts exactly.

That's good then. Guess we're on opposite ends. I just care about passing. I want to keep my smooth skin and all. Prolly be waxing every inch of myself.

I'm not stating that T- or the hairy ass- make the man.  Never have, never will.  Just curious as to how people chose a no-T transition and why they do so, just as I'm curious to those who choose non-op to me.  Since testosterone and surgery seemed like the natural way for me to go, I was simply looking for a bit of insight into the other perspective, and hopefully something a bit more comprehensive than "i can be a guy without being a baritone."

Oh I wasn't implying that you were saying that.

Hopefully if all goes well, I will be able to take T. So, I'm not exactly a no-T transitioner but wish I didn't need the hormone.
I really don't have any better reason for wishing I didn't need it than what I stated. Other than the fact I don't like the idea of being chained to a hormone forever, but then again I'm chained to other meds forever so doesn't really matter.

You're chained to one forever whichever road you choose, Nero.   :P

Again I'm going to have to say I'm one of those people who has no idea how to answer this. I mean, look at my current avatar. Clearly I want a beard badly >_>

The only thing stopping me right now is:
$$$$
Fear of permanency, can't go back once you've started
Fear of medical reasons -- I hate doctors, I'm scared of needles, I'm scared in general...

If I can get past all those though...? I'd be on T in a heartbeat and have top surgery too. I agree with Nero in the sense that "T doesn't make you a man" because I am a man. Always have been regardless of whether or not I have low or high levels of T pumping through me. I would simply like T to achieve the physical appearance I've always desired, and make the body match the mind.

I will be a man whether or not I go through the entire transition process until the day I die, it's just a vanity issue for me.

I think you guys all need to read OP...  I'm not asking why the people who are currently not on T are not on it.  I'm asking about those who choose to stay off for their entire transition.  They're out there, I've met them.  I just haven't met an eloquent one yet.  >_<

:sigh:

the thread is directed at those who ARE NOT and DO NOT EVER PLAN TO be on testosterone.  in this thread, i don't particularly care why you chose to go on testosterone- that's been asked and answered.

Number 1, calm down dude, take a chill pill.
Number 2, good luck finding them, I haven't seen any of those transmen around here.

I'm perfectly calm, it just gets rather obnoxious when people clearly do not read the topic.

You did, Elwood.  Not a blanket comment.

Yeah seth does it...but he already passes/has a deep voice :-\ and has his own reasons. I've seen him before, just not on susan's

Heh.  I'm not sure if could answer the OP's question or not.  I'm not on T, and never will be on T, and it's not for medical reasons or anything, it's a personal decision of sorts, but I'm not sure I can say I'm "transitioning" either.
