I can have a 5 o'clock shadow 20 minutes after shaving. I use a Fushion (5-bladed) razor and Noxema Positively Smooth shaving cream, but that blue-grey shadow is always visible. The razor shaves pretty close, so I'm thinking it would be a good idea to use makeup to cover the shadow.

Any suggestions anyone?

Then, there's the arm and hand hair. I've got hair growing on my damned fingers. I'd swear I'm the missing link. I've been thinking of maybe using "opera" gloves. It seems that the gloves would go up sleeves, thus hiding the hand & arm hair. That, and a high collar, should hide my upper body hair.

I can't quite afford an epilator yet; the recent move was expensive. Are there any suggestions out there for hiding/removing body hair?

Yes, and there are products like Dermablend that work to cover that shadow, and I'm thinking that something on more of an olive color might get the blue out, but a real makeup person would know better.

The gloves work, they get hot, it may be that with long sleeves and a dark place, no one might notice.

I was thinking of going down to Carla's in San Jose for a makeup lesson, but it's $65. Does that seem like a good idea, despite the cost? I actually have that much saved away right now.

I've heard nothing but the most awesome things about Carla.  As for worth it, depends on what's going on.  If you have no idea what this stuff is, how you use it and what shades are right for you it would be money well spent.  Mostly its practice, but you have to know what you're practicing.

That's good to know. Thanks, Tekla.

Yeah, its bewildering looking down the cosmetics isle at Wallgreen's going "What the hell am I doing here?"
