Q: Oh my God! I just don't know what I am going to do. I think I have
made a huge mistake and I don't know what to do about it. I saw a TV
program the other night about people that had transgendered and then
decided to go back to their original gender. Well, I couldn't believe
that there was any one else out there like me. I, too, feel like I
made a big mistake by having a gender change. I was born female and
always thought I wanted to be a boy and also believed I would be
happier if I were one. I truly thought that God had made a mistake
with me.

I dunno, I smell BS there about that story. Not that people don't regret, but this one doesn't ring true to me.

Sounds to me like the orignal "therapist" didn't do their job very well or as Dennis said "it's BS".

Hmm, thinkin Dennis is on to something. Nothing is said about the feelings that prompted the transition or the desire to go back. Basically, he just said he liked to dress male, and so one day blinked and decided the plumbing had better match and transitioned. Huh? And nothing at all is said about why he feels he needs to go back. Or she. I hardly know which to use here.

Laura91: You may be right....I would think that most of us would have used slightly different language as I italicized above....Wouldn't we have used "transgendered people who transitioned....." or some other variation rather than what they used as "people that had transgendered ".  Misuse of terms is often common in propaganda where people don't really know what they are talking about.  Also throwing in the line at the end of the first paragraph about "God making a mistake..." would certainly give plenty of pulpit material for the Sunday sermon.

I would love to see his answers for this question.  The whole story seems like a bunch of horse "manure" to me as well.  I find it very hard to believe why anyone in their right mind (and with all the help available today or five years ago i.e., the HBSOC, the therapists specialized in GID, the medical protocols, etc) will make such life-altering decisions without being absolutely sure of their gender identity and the enormous consequences that transition and SRS entail.

As I said on previous threads  regarding "transition regrets", this person needs to take responsibility for his own actions instead of whining and moaning on some site about his situation for which he is completely guilty.  If this story is indeed true, it is neither his therapist nor the medical community's fault but his own.  Heck, as far as I am concerned, no one put a gun on his forehead and told him to transition, take testosterone, or have a mastectomy and genital surgery, correct?

Tina, I think you put your finger on what's bugging me. The language is language fundies use, not transgendered people. Also, Nero, the phallo thing was one that that raised the bull->-bleeped-<- meter for me too.

Hmm, after I read it I didn't look much into it. Now that everyone is pointing out these little "mistakes" it does seem like BS to me. How many TSs actually use transgender as a verb, "...people that had trangendered," along with the reference to god make it very fishy indeed.

I just want to know, what kind of job he has that allows a person just out of school and supporting a young family to "transgender"?   can i get on that pay scale?  I also have a hard time with the timeline pesented.

I would think that he would know exactly what to do to get another sex change. He did it before, right? He knows all the hoops he has to jump through.
So, with that in mind, I'd say it's a bs story.
