In the following issue, #13, my favorite, Kono has her revenge in what I would now call a superheroic, futuristic version of an erotic forced feminization story. Forced feminization stories make up the overwhelming majority of transgender erotica stories, in which a man is forced against his will to become a woman. Activist and theorist Julia Serano has described these stories as a coping mechanism used by pre-transition transgendered women to deal with the shameful desire to become a woman. The basic plot displaces this desire onto a female authority figure who facilitates the transformation, removing what is arguably the most shameful aspect of the transgendered experience, desire, while maintaining the object of that desire, transformation of the sexed body and/or gender.
