Excerpt: Her tenure as mayor had other troubling moments that cast
doubt on her feminist claims. Palin made efforts to block these
debates as mayor when she made three separate inquiries into banning
books from the Wasilla Public Library. If wanting to ban any book
wasn't troubling enough, the book that she and her church were
targeting, titled, "Pastor, I Am Gay," advanced differing views on
sexual orientation and gender identity than she held.
