AA was the first major airline to implement same-sex domestic partner benefits, include sexual orientation and gender identity in its workplace non-discrimination policies, and to have a recognized employee resource group for gay and transgender workers, according to the company. AA also scored a 100 percent on the 2009 Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index.
