WOODSTOCK – Despite the heavy downpour, it was a day for finding common ground on the soggy Woodstock Square.

Gay and lesbian activists came together with those supporting the Latino community, and cultural diversity was celebrated.

Setting up a booth at the annual Diversity Day on Sunday was just one more way to get their message across, said Toni Weaver, McHenry County chapter leader of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays – PFLAG – a national organization.
