Amy Jyll

Hi,
my name is Amy and I'm glad that I found this forum!
I read a few posts here before I registeed and immediately liked it. :)
About me:
I'm 20 years old and finally accepted my female side. It was a struggle but after all I started therapy and came out to some of my friends. Luckily that went pretty well. Now I'll have to face my family. I guess they allready know though...
I tend to write novels so I better stop babbling here. :)
If my English isn't understandable feel free to tell me. ^_^

Greetings~
Amy

Hello, Amy,

Welcome to Susan's; it's a nice and friendly place and you'll fit like a good glove. Given the German above I am presuning you're from Germany? Always nice to have povs and ideas that aren't well-trained American in the mix.

Just enjoy yourself and your English is better than most's.

Thanks for all the nice replies, I already feel home! :D

And yes I'm from Germany.
And Sarah, perfect German except one tiny mistake nobody would mind! :D (Didn't even see it the first time...^^)

Amy,

Was war mein Fehler?

It was a conjugation problem, wasn't it? Where did I go wrong?

I've been studying German for about a year now. My Großvater was from Deutschland which is why I wanted to learn it. He spoke it but never taught us grandchildren any but a few words.

For all the rest of you, what I wrote meant:

Willkommen, Amy. Susan's ist das beste Forum.
Welcome, Amy. Susan's is the best forum.

Please excuse my terrible German (not word for word)

Entschuldigen Sie bitte mein schlechtes Deutsches

It should be "Entschuldigen Sie bitte mein schlechtes Deutsch."
Without the "es". You would use the "es" if German is an adjective and followed by a noun.
For example.
"Ich habe ein deutsches Auto."
"I have a German car.
In that case you write "deutsches" lower case. :)
lol... I sound like a teacher. xD
It's also very formal, but it's good that you used "Sie" instead of "sie". There are a lot of people in Germany who don't capitalize it when they mean "you".
A capitalized "Sie" is formal for "you" and a lower case one means "they".
Phew... German is a complicated language I guess.
If I had to chose one I would chose English instead.
Oh my... I'm babbling again. Hope this helps. ^^

Hi Amy,

Welcome to our little family. Over  2089 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion. Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers.  Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now.  And it is always nice to have another sister.

Welcome Amy!

I am new here too. Just like you have, I may even introduce myself one day. Until then, I'll be reading through all the old threads, posting comments, and resurrecting dead threads on my own. I look forward to hearing more from you. See you around!
