Chicago's Proposal of a Gay-Friendly High School

On October 22nd the Chicago School Board will vote on a proposal for the creation of a LGBT friendly high school. I believe that it would be a mistake for such a designated high school and would be a huge step backwards in finding solutions for creating a more accepting school environment for LGBT students. I agree with the statistics studies have shown regarding the harassment of LGBT students in schools and how it affects their ability to learn, however I do not agree that separating LGBT students into a special school is the best solution for this problem.
