All the time!
I admit I'm not your classic beauty. But I'm begining to believe that I'm pretty. I like the happier person I see looking back at me. No more glowering frowns! Besides, I like to make sure I look my best before going back out in public.
Sometimes it makes me nervous to look though, when there are young pretty girls doing their makeup and gossiping. I feel a bit like a whale next to them, and I'm sure I don't pass, but they just ignore me, or smile and ask a question, so it always turns out OK.
Come to think of it, I've had only one embarassing public bathroom experience. On a long drive down to Seward I had to stop in Girdwood for a potty break. The Women's restroom was out of order, and I wasn't the only girl doing the Pee-Pee Dance. So the Manager agreed to stand guard at the door while a gaggle of us did our thing in the boy's room. While the tinkling was happening, I cleared my throat, instantly regreting the big Man-Sound, one of the women shouted out in surprise "Is there a MAN in here?!" and the other girls took up the chorus. I pretended surprise and shock and joined in. They never did know where that sound came from...
