Do you look at yourself in the mirror in public restrooms?

^^

I look at myself sometimes and just make myself smile and pose.  It took a while before I was comfortable doing it in a public restroom with all these women going in and out, but I suppose it's nowhere near as conceited as standing there doing your mascara for half an hour like some of these girls do.

It just crossed my mind today because I walked into the restroom and there was this girl who was obviously getting some mirror time who jumped, grabbed her purse and immediately walked out.  Why be embarassed?  Looking in the mirror helps you know how to present the best face to the world.

The Bri Girl

All the time!
I admit I'm not your classic beauty.  But I'm begining to believe that I'm pretty.  I like the happier person I see looking back at me.  No more glowering frowns!  Besides, I like to make sure I look my best before going back out in public.
Sometimes it makes me nervous to look though, when there are young pretty girls doing their makeup and gossiping.  I feel a bit like a whale next to them, and I'm sure I don't pass, but they just ignore me, or smile and ask a question, so it always turns out OK.
Come to think of it, I've had only one embarassing public bathroom experience.  On a long drive down to Seward I had to stop in Girdwood for a potty break.  The Women's restroom was out of order, and I wasn't the only girl doing the Pee-Pee Dance.  So the Manager agreed to stand guard at the door while a gaggle of us did our thing in the boy's room.  While the tinkling was happening, I cleared my throat, instantly regreting the big Man-Sound, one of the women shouted out in surprise "Is there a MAN in here?!"  and the other girls took up the chorus.  I pretended surprise and shock and joined in.  They never did know where that sound came from...

It wasn't a public restroom, but I spent some time posing in front of the mirror in a clothing store's dressing room yesterday.

The downside is that it was the mens' dressing room.

if your mascara takes half a hour... you're doing it wrong.

As for the mirror, yeah, i do.... i like to make sure my hair is behaving and not turned into a birdsnest mess as it loves to when windy... and my city is always windy

If you stop to wash your hands before you leave, you can hardly Not look in the mirror.  Sure I look, I check to see if my hair needs brushing (sometimes it does), more to the point, why wouldn't anyone look in the mirror?

why wouldn't anyone look in the mirror?

Because they're afraid of what they'll see? Afraid they'll just see "maleness," and suddenly feel like the spell is broken, and wonder how anyone could ever see them as a female?

I've read some people are like that ;)

After so many mens rooms in the past having NO mirror, your damn right I look. That is one of the best parts about the ladies room - a mirror...

Ya know, transsexuals aren't the only ones with self image problems.

I was just talking about this one girl in general, there's a lot of girls like her.
