OK, I'm a geezer before my time. I admit it. You younguns with your new-fangled chatspeak are just driving me crazy.

I've seen the character string FTW used time and again here. Just what does it stand for?

Christo

For The Win - meaning it's awesome.  It's one of those newfangled Internet memes.

For The Win.  Its a gamer term, sort of like 'checkmate' for people who don't have the attention span or math skills to play chess.

And even old farts like us can learn to use:

And hey, look up "cleveland steamer" while you are there, it even shocked me.

Why, in the names of the gods, did I click on your urban dictionary link and enter "cleveland steamer"?

There are time when I hate being curious.

tekla

They used it the other night on Family Guy, and since I knew what it meant, and my GF is rather, well, not into all that, she didn't understand how I spit my beer across the room when it was used.

Still, the UD is a pretty damn good resource in these times for us old guys.

PM me for a list of other terms you don't want to know like, Dirty Sanchez, Donkey Punch, and Dropping the kids off at the Pool.

That was just plain sick, Tekla

And I already know what Dropping the kids off at the pool means.

I also should have known better to click that link and look it up before reading further in this thread.  :icon_blah:
