Beethoven wrote just one opera, FIDELIO, but it's a doozy with lush
music, grand passions, and a cross-dressing lead.

Fidelio is actually a noblewoman of Seville. She disguises herself as
a boy to find her husband, a political prisoner languishing somewhere
in chains.
