TO complain to HR about a sex-crazed supervisor is human. To sue the company that won't do a thing about Boss Perv is divine.
Or so many employees think. But while legal action taken by workers against current and former employers is a fertile field for attorneys, it's rarely a primrose path for plaintiffs, experts say.
SUBHED: The right wrongsIn a culture where everything from an overheated cup of coffee to a stubbed toe can be grounds for a suit, potential plaintiffs can spare themselves a boatload of misery by understanding what circumstances may justify legal action. Discrimination based on race, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status can be actionable, depending on where a plaintiff works. So can sexual harassment, on-the-job injuries and wage disputes.
