Thomas Beatie's First Interview Since Giving Birth As a Transgender Male

Last spring, the stunning announcement that Thomas Beatie, a
transgender man, was pregnant sparked controversy and questions about
traditional notions of what is a man and what is a woman.

In their first interview since the birth of their daughter Susan this
past summer, Beatie and his wife Nancy speak candidly to Barbara
Walters. Find out about the childbirth experience and how they're
raising their daughter in a non-conventional family, and what the
future holds for them on "What Is a Man, What Is a Woman? Journey of a
Pregnant Man" Friday on "20/20" at 10 p.m. ET.

The report features exclusive footage from inside the hospital during
Susan's birth and of the Beatie family at home.

Zythyra, it was a wonderful show.  I have the highest respect for Barbara Walters even though she has made a few people cry on previous shows!    She was a tad surprised when Thomas mentioned that he was pregnant again, but she gradually took it well.  Jenny Boylan and another couple (two men, one biological and one FTM) with a child were allowed to comment as well.

I will try to find the entire interview on youtoube and post it when it becomes available!

It was informative from what I saw.  I don't agree with the publicity.  It should have been kept quite.  But that was their call.  But as far as the family is concerned, I agree wholeheartedly.

This might be why Thomas is here.  To bring to light, our issues and that of others that are out of what society calls "normal".  Gays, Lesbian, Trans.  We are just people who want to be able to live uor lives and love our family.

I hope for the best for them.
