If you could have a fully functional penis with a tiny catch, would you?

Alright, I have no clue, if this kind of topic has been posted recently or ever posted. If it has been, I'm sincerely sorry. If this topic is offensive, delete it. Although I don't identify as an ftm, I do enjoy reading through some of the issues that ftms have to deal with. I also enjoy listening to what a few ftms have to say on this board.

Anyway, now on to the topic. If you could wake up tommorow with a male reproductive system and not just any male reproductive system, but a fully functional version with nothing to remind you of what you had down there before, would you do it?

Essentially, you would be able to configure it in every way physically to what you want. You would be able to make the penis as big and thick as you want -- for example. Not only that, but you would be able to get great erections, orgasms, and ejaculations. If you wanted to conceive a child with it, you would be able to do that as well. It would be in every way identical to a biological males'.

Here's the catch. If you took this deal, it would produce no testosterone, although it would still function perfectly. Furthermore, any foreign testosterone taken in the future, would have absolutely no effect on your body. You would be totally immune to any testosterone outside of what your body produces naturally. Essentially, you wouldn't be able to get any of the changes that ftms get with enough time on hrt, but you would still be eligible for getting surgery. Finally, any changes you had from hrt before taking this deal, would be completely erased.

Would you take this deal?

Hell no, not me. I've been told I'm "one of those guys that need T to pass". The least of my problems is what's downstairs. I can live with weird genitals (I don't plan on having any kind of surgery down there). I guess my desire for a beard and a deeper voice and such  just outweigh my desire for a penis.

Edit: Also, I think a lot of it is that I want to be treated male by society. Being a "girl with a penis" won't help with that, but T would.

Good question, je. I'm with Yochanan on it. I wouldn't take it. I spend a lot more time presenting my face to the world than my genitals and the social aspects of being treated as male are important to me.

If you'd asked me that 10 or 20 years ago I would have said yes.  At the time my missing anatomy was what drove me crazy; I functioned fairly well as a woman and would have been thrilled if I just had that southern anatomy.

Now I know it's not about the anatomy at all, but being who I am and presenting myself to the world as a man.  I love the deeper voice and body hair and all things masculine.  At this point I'd choose a few extra inches in height and a bit more facial hair.

Now, if you offered the whole package, no question!

Well it depends on the person. For me, I'd totally do it, because my face/body is perfectly passable without T.

Well..I would take it just because I don't plan on going on any kind of hormones to change my body. If I had a fully functional penis, passing wouldn't be that important to me anymore. I agree, a penis doesn't make a man but I think I would settle for one or the other.

I wouldn't even though I would pass now (until I open my mouth!) I would rather have the T. I think it would help be pass better and make me more confident than a fully functional male organ, which no one can see.

I would take it.  If I could still have surgery it would be fine for me. I would have top surgery and then facial reconstruction (I know its extreme but hey!) I would also get a personal trainer to bulk my body up and to loose the fat.

If I could have children with it and perform as a normal man. Hell yeah I would!

My thoughts exactly.  As tempting as having a nearly perfect set of equipment down there is... I know full well what the women in my family start to look like as they age.  They start looking even more like women: very pear-shaped with big hips.  Boobs also get bigger; my mom was in her mid-thirties before her boobs finally filled out (though pregnancy prolly helped with that).  So while I may pass OK-ish right now...  I won't in the future.  T for me.

BTW, has anyone ever noticed how the facial features of men vs. women seem to age differently?  Mens' noses seem to get bigger and their skin gets coarser, while womens' faces get softer, sag at the jowls, and generally form more wrinkles than men?  I dunno, maybe it's the skin... the skin on women seems to get very, very thin as they age (using the 80-90 year olds I know as reference); this doesn't seem to happen so much to old men.
