There's an article out today, published by Eyewitness News, Memphis, Tennessee. It's entitled Homicide Victim Identified as Transgendered Person, Duanna Johnson.

[Duanna Johnson] Her name may be familiar to you. Duanna was the Tennessee transgender woman who was shown on surveillance tape being beaten by Memphis Police Officers reported on this past June.

That whole incident from the beating up until the death is so sad.  I'm worried about a lot of people. I don't know their names, but I'm scared for them.  I wish I could build safe havens in every state.

It's important then that we have someone advocating for the victim.  There must be family somewhere who want justice.

a little more than a week to go until Day of Remembrance too, it's events like this that remind us that we'll susceptible to violence, all of us.
