*TMI TOPIC, discusses private areas*

If I have placed this in the wrong spot, forgive me and please move to a better location, thank you.

I'm getting a little scared/unsure about something that's been happening to my penis while on hormones.

I've been on spiro for 11 months and estrogen for 7.

I had all the typical responses to female hormones, in terms of stopping spontaneous erections, decreased/absent seminal fluid, etc.

It's the pain thing that scares me. The few times I have gotten erect in the last four months or so, my penis hurts really really bad, like it's tearing or ripping in spots. Yes, it hurts *bad* to get an erection, and even if I wanted to function as a man with a woman (and have the erection to do it), I would not be able to because of the pain involved.

Worse, my penis used to curve up if anything, before I went on hormones. Now it curves much more sharply DOWN through the middle section. It's like the upper part is still engorging with blood fine enough, but the underside is NOT in spots, and I think this is where the pain and weird appearance is coming from -- from parts expanding and other parts not.

Can anyone advise me? Yes, I got a combo MD/trans doctor in August. No, I have not been back to them and am not scheduled until March, so they don't know of the issue. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

If it is a sad side effect of m2f hormone treatment on some of us, fine; I can deal; eventually it won't matter, since the rest of me feels fine and that part will be going bye-bye. I'm just a little scared because I don't know what it is.

Again, I'm sorry if this is too sensitive for this part of the forum, please move the topic if you need to.

Hey Jenny,
If the guys can discuss their periods, we can talk about our boy clits.
I haven't had any pain with the boy clit, but then again I haven't had a erection in months.  It could be from Spiro, but I don't know. You might want to call your MD or an advise nurse.  Maybe an e-mail, if you can.  It does take forever to get hard and then it isn't like before.

I would say unless it is a problem, don't worry about it and mention it on your next visit to the doctor.

Jenny,
I know exactly how it feels as I experienced the same thing as well as many other mtf's What is going on is due to shrinkage of the penile skin from lack of erections. Thats why even through its not enjoyable for many of us girls to do, its important to keep that skin as pliable as possible (through masterbation) as this skin in used in GRS if you so decide to have it done at a later time.

Its still not a bad idea to mention it to your doctors to ease you worrying about it and to just make sure there's nothing else going on. Take care.  :)

I experienced the same thing Jenny, and occasionally still do when I forget or couldn't be bothered to ... well ... you know. As Gina says, it's tissue shrinkage.

What Gina said.
Liek any muscle, if left unused it will atrophy, which sounds like what is happening. Use it a bit more to keep it healthy.

Probably not what you want to hear, but necessary.

Dammit!

Now you're telling me masturbation has a purpose.

CRAAAAP!

Jenny,

What the girls are saying is right...but..

If you are in that much pain, then you are not going to exercise it....

No .. Definitely talk to your doctor.

It sounds like you are getting restricted blood flow as opposed to shrinkage, so you may need to employ a specific massage technique for a while.

Ok, but isn't it the whole purpose to "lose" it?

Kristen.... I think the "Green" term is RECYCLING!  ;D

I like to throw things straight in the garbage.

You know ...You can get fined for that in the UK now !

...I can just see the headlines... "Record fine for "****" in the wrong garbage receptical"  ;D

Daggum masturbation finding a way back into my life.

At least it's not as messy as it was before but, it's harder to find quality "material" now.

Great.
Even masturbation is a chore now. lol...

I did used to masturbate one every day or so when I was running on T. My drive just went straight down since being on spiro and estro -- it was bad enough I had to force myself to play around once every few weeks. So yes, the habits drastically changed: If I would be given the option of eating ice cream, answering e-mails from friends, or having purely physical sex, well, I'd be just as inclined to pig out on the ice cream.

The other problem is that I really don't enjoy it "the guy way" anymore, especially because there's no fluid buildup over time that always felt pleasurable when alleviated as a male. Now when I get there in that mode, it's just like, gaaa... nothing, really.

But I'm starting to play around more with my whole body and trying to enjoy overall sensation in ways that did not used to appeal to me. (My skin sensitivity is SO much higher now on hormones... so there are things that feel REALLLLLLY good that before I wouldn't have noticed.)

Anyway, thank you. That is what I was guessing it was, and it just helps to hear that others have experienced this.

Meanwhile... I'll try to keep up with my "chore list." *roll eyes* :)

Skin is strange stuff.
It never loses its ability to stretch.
Over time though, as you get older, it loses it's ability to contract.

That means that your elbows will get baggy which is kind of a bummer.
On the other hand, skin on unused male stuff will pretty much stay the same size on older people,
while with younger people it will contract and get smaller.

Stretching exercises (in the literal or figurative sense) are about the only solution.
