My brother's trans and it hasn't been terribly long since i've known, but it wasn't exactly last week, either. we live very far apart, by the way. Like, diff countries. SO ANYWAYS. some of my friends at school know, and i think others wonder because i don't use his female name anymore. so either they just get it or they think that i've got a new friend. i'm having problems, though, using the right pronouns (he vs she) and sometimes i just say "sorry i get them mixed up, the names are so alike" which is half true, but it's partly also cuz i was just so used to saying "she". i feel horrible all the time though because i am TRYING to remember, but i can't sometimes. once before on msn i even said "hey chickie" and then cyber-smashed my head into the keyboard.

so yeah this is less of a question or anything than it just is a little rant. i'm sure it'll get easier as time goes on, but i think a big part of why i have problems is that around certain people, my brother is still my sister (like around my parents and other brother) but around my friends and at school it's okay.

JennyPenny,

You are pretty much the only one in my life right now who calls me "he" at all, and I understand slip-ups. It is quite refreshing to be someone's brother, though. I know it will take time to get used to, and I know it is harder due to the million or so miles between us, not to mention that we've both been so busy that we don't talk very much anymore.

But I hope you know that I appreciate your effort and I love you very much.

Your Big Bro,

Johnny

PS: If it helps you can think up a nickname other than John for me. I can see how the name switch would be difficult 'cause it's just a two letter difference.

saying john around my parents isn't THAT hard because if i do say John instead of Johnna, they're like "what" and i can correct myself...cuz it sounds the same:P

i told my friends kelsey and kaitlyn, cuz they'er basically around me ALL the time, so they should know that my friend johnna isn't gone...lol.

thanks, johnny<3 *cuddles* i luvs you.
