This may not make me popular,  But....

What if the brain has drivers hard wired for both male and female bodies...... :o

..What if the brain is neither male or female but responds to the body it "sees" after birth, after "T-wash"..... lookin' at what's left via the neural pathway and what is exited.....

...What if the average male could experience a female orgasm, but never realises he could?.....  ::)

...What if we are all androgen, looking for a place to feel comfortable?.... ::)

OK ...sh** it's Saturday night ...I've got a right to ask some weird questions?...... >:-)

What do you think???............

Sometime back there was a link to a BBC test for gender dominance in thought process.  If you didn't see it, here's the link again; http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/sex/add_user.shtml  .  I scored right in the middle, 50/50.  It's hard to fudge this test since it doesn't measure attitudes but cognitive skills in solving different kinds of problems.  So, yea, I can see your androgen idea.  How many of us had successful lives as males prior to transition?

Still... I have this dilemma...

My wife wants to make love to a guy who's actually a girl ...but as a guy...

..I love her, but as a girl who loves a girl, but can't tell her...

...is this nuts or what?.....

I knew I should have avoided that Chianti........

Didn't try the test but you bring up an interesting point.  There are a lot of women that are good at traditional male jobs or tasks, just are a lot of men that are good at traditional female jobs or tasks.

This could be because the brain is wired for both.  So why then are we the way we are.  Hormones?  Upbringing?

Chrissty, hon.  That is why you have fava beans with you Chianti.

shouldn't have done that test....

100 on the male side....

oh well.....

Maybe I needed a reality check. I guess I'm a guy, never going to escape that reality.

No it's not nuts. I'm in the same position to a point. My wife loves the idea
of my feminine body and she loves playing with my boobies. She told me she does not
ever want me to have body hair again. But she would like to have the boy parts too
and lately it takes a lot to make that happen.

I think that it's very possible that TS's have a mixture of boy and girl wiring. I know for
me there are some things that are so female, like my love for clothes, makeup, shopping. And there
are things that I do that are more often than not male like computers. My take is that whatever causes
transsexualism is not perfect and some of us have wiring from both. And maybe T changes some things
and not others.

Something sleeps deep within us
hidden and growing until we awaken as ourselves.

It's hard to get around all the time spent living as a male.  At work the other day we were discussing the predatory ideas of a man towards a female client, whom I'm fond of.  It just popped out of mouth, "If he touches her, I will kick his ass!".  You should of seen the surprised looks on the faces of my colleagues!

Living as a guy, you are bound to pick up some traits and try/experience things most girls never will. It's inevitable that some of them you would take a liking to. Wiring may have something to do with it to an extent, but If both sexes tried many things only associated with the other they too would find some things they did not expect. The difference is that you HAVE done that.

Thank you for the suggestion Claire, I did the test before too, as I remeber my score was around 55/45.. slightly female dominant overall.... but my individual test scores swung wildly, so I remained undecided.

Hey findingreason, Like Nero says...don't take it too seriously, I think a lot of the scores can be affected by way too many factors...

That's the problem with "validation tests," girl!
I usually avoid them.
Either I get a rush that never has lasting power anyway, or I get hamstrung when the test says something I didn't want to hear.
It's just someone's opinion about gender generalizations.

I know what I am, regardless of any test someone can make up.
And everyone who sees me when I'm out knows what I am too.
(And even when I'm not out and about, I'm still "different" and I think people pick up on that much. The girls accept me into their circle; the guys all know I'm not really party of theirs.)

Honestly, I don't even know how we'd baseline all that.
Science hasn't even figured it for non-trans people, let alone trans people.

We're people.
For some reason, some of us identify with our non-physical, non-natal gender.
Some of us have a really hard time fitting in with our assigned gender to the point of suicide, and therapy at least for older people that is meant to make people happy in their natal gender doesn't seem to make an impact.

So to me, whether I like math, shooting things, and fixing cars doesn't much seem to matter. It doesn't change how someone self-identifies and how impossible it seems to change. (Funny enough, my really girly wife enjoys math more than I do, likes shooting things more than I do, and probably could fix cars if she had a reason to and enjoy it more than I ever would. But she definitely doesn't identify as male. Go figure.)

QuoteSo why then are we the way we are.

Science has discovered that there is not enough information in DNA to determine our behavior. That means most of how we act is from experience and upbringing.  However there are genes that control our physical growth those physical limitations make it easier to make some decisions than other's. This can be controlled by determination just as being focused or critical thinking allows some to put off immediate gratification for longer term goals. As some people are more prone to ADD it can be over come with training. Most of the modern times allows people to multitask and flip between many short term actions without ever noticing what they missed about the beauty of long term focused attention. We are headed into a dark age where this skills are lost.
