Cinema has the capacity to alter people's beliefs or way of living.
Even today, Cinema is a window to the ever-changing world for many. It
brings in new fashion, style, ideas, and thoughts. A utopian inclusive
society has always been its dream – it dreams of a society with no
barriers of colour, caste, creed, religion, socio-economic status or
sex. And when we say 'sex', we also include the third gender! Agreed,
this part of society has always been the butt of Cinema's ugliest
jokes, but times are changing and the upcoming Jiiva-starrer
Thenavettu talks about a utopian society where transgenders hold a
respectful position.
